Northgate Gonzalez Market is seeking a skilled bakery decorator to join our team in Santa Ana, CA. You will decorate cakes and pastries, ensure product quality, and assist with inventory, safety, and customer service in a fast-paced bakery setting.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years decorating experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a pastry arts certificate is a plus. The role requires lifting up to 70 pounds and a strong team orientation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• 3 years decorating experience required or equivalent.
• Certificate in pastry arts (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide optimum customer satisfaction.
• Maintain neat, well-groomed appearance and wear uniform.
• Report hazards to bakery manager; comply with safety regulations.
• Establish and maintain vendor relationships.
• Maintain good internal communications across the department.
• Notify manager of personnel issues impacting operations.
• Assist in receiving and unloading merchandise and verify invoices.
• Load/unload ovens; know temperatures and bake times.
• Assist in inventory control and ordering of ingredients.
• Control utilities and conserve water and energy.
• Label and date products; record markdowns and write-offs.
• Meet margin and sales targets; follow weights and measures procedures.
• Decorate cakes and pastries; design with icing and piping.
