Job summary

ShopRite of Pearl River is seeking a Cake Decorator to support the Bakery Department. You will assist the Bakery Manager with decorating, dough handling, icing and packaging of pastries and breads while maintaining a clean, appealing department.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in varied temperatures. Prior experience in a bakery setting is beneficial, and customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak English.
• Ability to assist the Bakery Manager.
• Stand for long periods and regularly lift 25 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed foods safely and hygienically.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Ability to comply with time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Prepare trays and decorate pastries and bread according to recipes.
• Rotate products to ensure freshness.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Follow QA standards and safety guidelines.
• Dress and groom according to company policy.
• Wash hands and wear disposable gloves when handling food.
• Assist in daily bakery operations and support the Bakery Manager.
