The position supports the Head Pastry Chef with professional cake decorating experience, creativity, and strong attention to detail. Flexible scheduling with weekend availability required; part-time (minimum 20 hours/week) and hourly pay.

Responsibilities

• Decorate standard ice cream cakes, frosted cakes, and custom cake orders.
• Build and frost cakes with piping techniques and write messages on cakes.
• Assist with custom cake preparation and order fulfillment.
• Maintain dessert and toppings inventory with Head Pastry Chef.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as a stand mixer.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Properly store food and kitchen supplies.

Position Summary

This role supports the Head Pastry Chef in executing our custom cakes. The ideal candidate has professional cake decorating experience, creativity and attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude.

Job Tasks and Essential Functions

• Decorate standard ice cream cakes, frosted cakes, and custom cake orders
• Build and frost cakes with knowledge of piping techniques and ability to write messages on cakes
• Assist with custom cake preparation and order fulfillment
• Maintain dessert and toppings inventory with the Head Pastry Chef
• Operate kitchen equipment such as stand mixer
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Properly store food and kitchen supplies

Requirements

• Current Food Handler’s Certification
• Minimum 3 years professional cake decorating experience
• Familiarity with baking equipment and kitchen tools
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Team-oriented with good communication skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to reach above shoulder height and below the waist
• Ability to lift and move kitchen materials using proper lifting techniques

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.60 – $20.00 per hour
