FRESH START SD INC - SugarBears Sweet Provisions in Encinitas, CA is seeking a talented Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. If you love edible artistry and creating custom cakes, this is the perfect role to bring sweet visions to life in a lively shop.

You will decorate cakes and cupcakes with fondant, buttercream, and ganache, work with customers on special orders, and maintain a clean, sanitary workspace.

Qualifications

• Prior cake decorating or pastry experience preferred.
• Proficiency in buttercream and fondant techniques.
• Attention to detail and color design.
• Ability to work in fast-paced bakery environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and decorate custom cakes, cupcakes, and baked goods using a variety of techniques.
• Apply fondant, buttercream, ganache, and other icings with precision and creativity.
• Collaborate with customers and team members to execute custom cake orders and special requests.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary decorating workspace in compliance with food safety standards.
• Manage multiple orders simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Create decorative elements such as sugar flowers, piping designs, and hand-painted details.
• Assist with inventory of decorating supplies and communicate restocking needs.

Responsibilities:

• Design and decorate custom cakes, cupcakes, and other baked goods using a variety of techniques


• Apply fondant, buttercream, ganache, and other icings with precision and creativity


• Collaborate with customers and team members to execute custom cake orders and special requests


• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary decorating workspace in compliance with food safety standards


• Manage multiple orders simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards


• Create decorative elements such as sugar flowers, piping designs, and hand-painted details


• Assist with inventory of decorating supplies and communicate restocking needs

Requirements:

• Prior experience in cake decorating, pastry arts, or a related bakery role preferred


• Proficiency in buttercream and fondant techniques, piping, and cake finishing


• Strong attention to detail with a creative eye for design and color


• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery environment


• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (Food Handler's Card a plus)


• Excellent communication skills and a team-player attitude


• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
