Simple Delights in San Mateo is seeking a talented Cake Decorator to join our team. The role involves preparing ready-made cakes and ice cream cakes, creating beautiful custom cakes, and assisting in handcrafted desserts for celebrations.

The position supports the Head Pastry Chef with professional cake decorating experience, creativity, and strong attention to detail. Flexible scheduling with weekend availability required; part-time (minimum 20 hours/week) and hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years professional cake decorating experience.
• Familiarity with baking equipment and kitchen tools.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Team-oriented with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Decorate standard ice cream cakes, frosted cakes, and custom cake orders.
• Build and frost cakes with piping techniques and write messages on cakes.
• Assist with custom cake preparation and order fulfillment.
• Maintain dessert and toppings inventory with Head Pastry Chef.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as a stand mixer.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Properly store food and kitchen supplies.
