Job Summary

Job Purpose

Produces high-quality decorated items and baked goods according to the company’s standard product offerings. Decorates cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and other bakery items. Assists in daily bakery operations. Increases customer confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent and compliant operating conditions. Provides fresh and appealing products, courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt service. Values diversity and supports an inclusive environment by embracing the backgrounds and experiences of the team.

Essential Responsibilities

1. SERVICE (40%): Creates a welcoming environment, ensures merchandise is well-presented, and meets quality standards. Assists customers with product questions, samples, and special orders. Decorates baked goods to customer satisfaction.
2. FINANCIAL (40%): Completes daily tasks, processes and bakes merchandise per guidelines, checks product quality and freshness, manages inventory, and ensures proper storage and temperature compliance.
3. LEADERSHIP (10%): Promotes teamwork, guides and empowers team members, and communicates effectively.
4. COMPLIANCE/SAFETY (10%): Ensures safety standards, food handling, sanitation, and regulatory compliance. Reports hazards and incidents, and maintains safety equipment and procedures.

Qualifications

• High School / GED
• Language: English required; Spanish preferred
• Relevant Experience: 0-3 years, supervisory experience not required
• Must be 18 years of age
• Authorization to work in the US
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math and bakery equipment operation
• Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain within 180 days

Environmental Factors

Position involves standing, walking, manual dexterity, and exposure to various working conditions including cold, heat, and wet environments. Safety hazards include working with hazardous equipment and sharp objects.
