Job summary

ShopRite of Norwich is seeking a Bakery Associate to support the Bakery Manager in daily ops, including baking, dough handling, icing, packaging, and decorating of pastry and bread items. Maintain cleanliness and a visually appealing department while performing tasks safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include stocking, signage, QA, and routine production duties. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work varying shifts, and interact positively with customers and teammates.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak English clearly.
• Ability to assist Bakery Manager in daily operations.
• Regularly lift 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, bend, twist, reach, push and pull for extended periods.
• Work in varying temperatures and handle food safely.
• Deal with dust, cleaning agents, and cleaning tasks.
• Interact with customers in a friendly, helpful manner.
• Work cooperatively with others and follow schedules.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment.
• Sanitize surfaces, utensils, and equipment; keep floors clean.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Operate and monitor bakery equipment per recipes.
• Rotate products to ensure freshness and correct signage.
• Follow recipes and weights, ensure quality control.
• Prepare trays and fulfill special orders as requested.
• Accurately inventory supplies and re-order as needed weekly.
• Adhere to safety, QA, and local regulations in bakery ops.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain punctual attendance.
