Job summary

Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland is seeking a Cage Assistant Shift Manager to support the Cage Shift Manager and supervise cage and vault staff on a shift basis.

The role ensures accurate cash handling and adherence to policies, while managing staffing within budget and developing team members. The position requires a four-year degree or equivalent casino operations experience, the ability to obtain a gaming license, and strong analytical and regulatory knowledge to meet auditing and compliance

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience in casino cage operations.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license as determined by the State Gaming Agency for the position.
• Ability to analyze and interpret departmental needs and results.
• Ability to read complex documents and understand state and local tax laws, banking codes, gaming laws and regulations.
• Ability to solve complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise cage personnel on assigned shift to ensure accurate control over casino funds.
• Ensure all policies and procedures are followed.
• Manage processes to control and reduce loss time injuries.
• Review staffing levels to maintain budgeted employment.
• Delegate authority and assign responsibilities.
• Develop staff including training, interviewing for hires, performance management up to termination and conducting evaluations.
• Complete daily audits for Cage operations to satisfy auditing and regulatory requirements.
• Manage department financial data.
• Review cage shift activities with Cage Shift Manager.
• Meet with departmental directors and managers as necessary.
• Extend complimentary items in line with the property comp matrix.
• Other duties as assigned.
