Job summary

UMass Chan Medical School’s Campus Planning team seeks a CAFM Business Technology & Data Integration Specialist to manage space data, CAD/BIM records, and GIS integration across campus properties.

You will maintain the Space Management Platform, prepare as-built drawings, and deliver standard and custom analytics to support capital programming, campus operations, and data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Planning, GIS, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience: 2-3 years in CAD and database systems operation, document generation, or related work.
• Project Management: Proven ability to work independently, prioritize workflows, and advance multiple complex projects simultaneously
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of IWMS platforms used for space management applications.
• GIS knowledge utilizing Esri ArcGIS product suite and GIS database administration.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office Professional Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
• Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of building design, construction, and shared industry practices in healthcare or research labs.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work with diverse campus stakeholders.
• Travel: Ability to travel to off-site campus locations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the CAD relational database, block libraries, documentation, written in-house standards, and software licensing.
• Update and maintain CAFM as-built drawings to reflect renovations, personnel moves, and new construction accurately.
• Manage the AutoCAD floorplan upload process to update the space system, keeping room polygons and database attributes complete and error-free.
• Organize and archive historical and current CAD/BIM files on the local network and within the space platform.
• Analyze, validate, and record gross floor area measurements for all facility profiles per university standards.
• Maintain expertise in university space data standards, space system tools, CAD standards, and Revit-to-AutoCAD conversions.
• Prepare and revise a wide variety of complex drawings where initiative and institutional knowledge are required.
• Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize, and understand the scope of work involved in maintaining the Space Management Platform.
• Maintain an archive of historical floor plans.
