Job summary

Tucson Unified School District is hiring a part-time Food Services team member for the Administrative Building in Tucson. The role involves preparing and serving refreshments and meals to adults as part of the district's catering team. Hours are 6 per day, 0.75 FTE, with a 9-month work calendar.

Applicants should have at least 6 months of food service experience and basic math/reading skills. English verbal and written communication is required to read and follow instructions and complete logs.

SUMMARY

Prepares and serves refreshments and meals to adults as part of Food Services catering team. May complete required food safety logs and records. Position hours are adjusted throughout the year based on customer participation volume. Work may involve occasional lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 35 pounds as a regular part of the job.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Six (6) months food service experience.
• Demonstrated math and reading skills at the fifth-grade level.
• Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.

REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO START DATE

• FBI fingerprint background check
• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization

PREFERRRED REQUIREMENTS

• Cashier/point of sale experience

Location: Site – TUSD Administrative Building - 220 W 6th Street

FTE - .75 FTE – 6 hours per day

Work Calendar:9 months

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.
