Job summary

Region 4 Schools in Essex Elementary School is seeking a dedicated Cafeteria Worker to support the Cafeteria Manager and help run daily menu service in compliance with USDA and health requirements.

You will assist with food preparation and serving, set‑up and breakdown of the kitchen and service area, follow sanitation codes, handle deliveries, and perform cashiering duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Cafeteria Manager, as directed, to prepare and serve a daily menu.
• Assist in preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner.
• Assist in the daily set-up and breakdown of kitchen and service area.
• Adhere to all sanitation and health codes governing personal appearance and food handling, including duties related to proper storage of food, and use of equipment and supplies.
• Assist in the receiving of food and supply deliveries.
• Carry out cashiering and related duties.
• Have knowledge of and ability to order food items and supplies, etc.
