Job summary

Essex Elementary School in Essex, CT is seeking a Cafeteria Worker to assist the Cafeteria Manager and support daily food service operations in compliance with USDA and health department requirements.

You will help prepare and serve the daily menu, assist in setup and break-down of the kitchen and service area, and perform cashiering duties while ensuring proper food storage and sanitation standards. Start date: As soon as possible; Application Deadline: Open until filled.

• Assist the Cafeteria Manager, as directed, to prepare and serve a daily menu.
• Assist in preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner.
• Assist in the daily set-up and breakdown of kitchen and service area.
• Adheres to all sanitation and health codes governing personal appearance and food handling, including duties related to proper storage of food, and use of equipment and supplies
• Assist in the receiving of food and supply deliveries.
• Carry out cashiering and related duties.
• Knowledge of and ability to order food items and supplies, etc.
