Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of Oasis Cafeteria and ensure quality standards.
• Assist management in training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating associates.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to concerns of other associates.
• Set up, maintain and break down salad bar and hot food line.
• Maintain refrigerator in clean, organized manner, with all food items labeled and dated.
• Supervise the upkeep of the cafeteria including tables, chairs, serving utensils and service line, before and after cafeteria hours.
• Ensure hot and cold food items are kept in compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Adhere to all sanitation guidelines.
• Disposal of waste per hotel standards and recycling guidelines.
• Clean, sanitize and close workstations.

Scope of PositionThe primary responsibility of the Cafeteria Supervisor is to supervise the daily operations of the Oasis Cafeteria and ensure high quality standards and associate satisfaction. The Supervisor must possess customer service skills as they are interacting with internal guests and/or vendors. He/she must also have a desire to attain cleanliness in all areas of the Food and Beverage operations and apply hotel standards and procedures.Position RequirementsProfessional demeanor appropriate for a resort environment.Prior cafeteria or food and beverage experience is required.Outstanding and professional customer service skills.Knowledge of cleaning techniques and use of equipment/machinery.A food handling certification must be completed within the first 90 days of employment.ResponsibilitiesApproach all encounters with associates and visitors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.Perform serving and stocking duties.Assist management in training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching associates.Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other associates.Assures presentation of all menu items adhere to established standards.Setup, maintain and break down salad bar and hot food line.Maintain refrigerator in clean, organized manner, with all food items labeled and dated.Supervise the upkeep of the cafeteria including but not limited to tables, chairs, serving utensils and service line, before and after cafeteria hours.Ensures hot and cold food items are kept in compliance with company standards and meet all sanitation and safety requirements.Adhere to all sanitation guidelines.Contributes to the development of processes and procedures of the Oasis Cafeteria.Dispose of waste as per the hotel standards and adhere to recycling guidelines.Clean, sanitize and close workstations.Always practice proper food handling procedures, cleaning and storage of containers, use of cleaning chemicals & PPEs.Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.EducationHigh school diploma or GED.Skills and AbilitiesAbility to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.Able to handle high heat and moisture.Knowledge of basic food handling policies and procedures as well as the techniques and equipment for preparing and presenting food products for consumption, including storage/handling techniques, proper chemical handling, and sanitation standards.Physical RequirementsMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment.Must be physically fit in order to lift, pull and push items up to 50 pounds.Also requires reaching overhead/standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
