Job summary

Metz Culinary Management / Nutri-Serve Food Management in New Jersey is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare and serve nutritious meals in a friendly, efficient environment and to maintain related paperwork accurately.

The role requires teamwork, adherence to menus and daily duties on the line, POS tasks, inventory support, and a commitment to high standards of customer service for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Must pass state-required background check and fingerprinting to work in NJ schools.
• Previous food service experience preferred but not required.
• Key knowledge, skills and abilities include customer service, patience and following written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of meals and cafeteria setup.
• Check with Kitchen Manager for daily prep assignments.
• Assist in daily menu preparation.
• Set up napkins, serving utensils, trays and condiments.
• Set up daily snacks on the cafeteria line.
• Check and verify food shipments and invoices.
• Determine daily food quantities.
• Serve nutritious meals with a friendly approach.
• Work on a rotating basis in kitchen and at the register.
• Operate serving lines and maintain cleanliness.
• Promote a friendly customer service atmosphere.
• Perform general housekeeping and record-keeping tasks.
• Input prepayments and daily sales; post deposits.
