Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic arithmetic, reading, and writing skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand 3–6 hours.
• Serve Safe course within 1 year of hire.
• POS experience preferred.
• Experience in institutional food service helpful.
• Work independently and manage time effectively.
• Experience with diverse school communities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with food service manager's instruction on production, preparation, and service of food.
• Account for meals (revenue and ala carte sales) per department standards.
• Assist with clean-up of kitchen, serving area, cafeteria and dishroom.
• Follow safety standards in handling, preparation, storage and serving food.
• Operate point of sale equipment for breakfast and lunch lines.
• Work efficiently and cooperatively with other employees.
• Attend job-related training classes and workshops.
• Interact with students in a positive and professional manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
