Job summary

Cabarrus County School District is seeking a part-time School Nutrition Program Assistant II – Floating Position (Northern Area) to support daily meal service in multiple schools. The role involves cash handling, food prep, fruit and salad prep, and maintaining a clean kitchen environment.

Responsibilities include reporting to assigned schools, preparing food for the next day, and assisting in serving meals while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Valid NC Driver License and reliable transportation.
• High school diploma or GED/HiSET desired.
• General kitchen experience desired.
• Ability to adjust to new and changing situations.
• Ability to get along well with others.
• Ability to assist in creating an inviting atmosphere for customers and staff.
• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work quickly with hands and complete assignments in time allotted.

Responsibilities

• Reports to schools in the Northern Area on a daily basis as assigned using own transportation.
• Serves as a cashier.
• Washes and wraps fresh fruit; measures and cups canned fruit.
• Washes and measures ingredients for salads.
• Prepares specialty fruit and assists in vegetable preparation.
• Prepares food for next day; cleans and sanitizes work area.
