Job summary

Chartwells K-12 in Darien, CT is hiring a Food Unit Lead for a full-time, Monday–Friday shift from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm. Prior cooking experience is required; ServSafe certification and manager experience are preferred.

We offer training and opportunities for internal referrals in a supportive dining program within Chartwells K-12. The role focuses on supervising food-service staff, ensuring quality and timely meal service, handling customer inquiries, and maintaining sanitation and safety

Qualifications

• Prior cooking experience is required.
• ServSafe certification is preferred.
• Manager experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates activities of other food-service employees.
• Oversees and participates in the preparation and service of food and beverages.
• Responds to customer complaints in person and via email.
• Trains employees and assigns work to promote efficiency and excellence.
• Determines work procedures, prepares schedules and expedites workflow.
• Maintains sanitation standards and manages cash handling per policy.
