Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a Food Service Specialist to support meal preparation and service for students at a Texas campus. The role involves assisting with food preparation, maintaining safety standards, operating POS, and ensuring a clean service area.

You will interact with students, staff and families daily as part of a fast-paced school cafeteria team. The position is full-time and on-site with benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of work experience in a job that involves standing for long periods and physical activity.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds solo and up to 50 pounds with a partner.
• Ability to obtain a locally-recognized manager food safety certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, safety and quality assurance for students.
• Provide customer service and interact with staff, students and families daily.
• Operate food service equipment and maintain spaces; notify manager of any malfunctions.
• Perform cafeteria cleaning duties: sweeping, mopping, wiping tables, washing dishes, disposing of trash.
