Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking cafeteria staff to support food service for Church employees and temple patrons. You will assist senior cooks, prepare a range of items from simple to intermediate, and ensure quality and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include serving, cold prep, cooking, baking, inventory handling, and maintaining cleanliness. Strong reading and math skills, plus reliability and English communication, are essential.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and basic math at an intermediate level; 1–3 years work experience; 6 months food preparation preferred.
• Must obtain food handler permit where required.
• Good English communication skills.
• Must read weights, measures and recipes in the local language.
• Lift/move up to 40 lbs, stand entire shift, fast-paced environment.
• Punctual and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Serves food in cafeteria line.
• Cold food preparation such as salad bar and sandwiches.
• Cooks simple to intermediate recipes.
• Bakes cookies, pies, and pastries.
• Manages waste and rotates FIFO.
• Receives and stores some orders.
• Maintains a clean working area.
• Other duties as assigned.
