Job summary

Alamance-Burlington School System is seeking a School Nutrition Assistant at Turrentine Middle for the 2025-26 school year. This 30-hour weekly position reports to the School Nutrition Manager and serves breakfast and lunch to students and staff in a courteous, safety-conscious manner as required by USDA and district policies.

Work is Monday through Friday with hours totaling 30 per week. The role requires a valid NC food handler's certification, a driver’s license, and ability to follow menus

Qualifications

• Basic ability to read and speak/understand English and count currency.
• Valid food handler’s certification or card as required by the state and USDA.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the NC DMV.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch and a la carte items.
• Handle cashiering responsibilities including food and ticket sales.
• Replenish food and maintain clean serving areas.
• Monitor food and equipment temperatures at all times.
• Maintain a neat, clean and safe work environment.
