Job summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking a Cook to prepare and deliver hot entrees, vegetables, soups, cereals, sauces, and fried items from the production area. You will ensure proper handling and storage, sanitation, and compliance with safety standards while producing attractive and nutritious meals for customers.

Responsibilities include portioning, ordering support, temperature monitoring, recipe adherence, and training teammates to minimize waste.

Qualifications

• High School Education or Equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year of cooking or food service experience is required.
• Preferred: Two years of cooking experience in healthcare or restaurant setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce hot food items, supporting ordering, portioning, and assembly to ensure timely service.
• Handle, store, and maintain food safely and cost-effectively in compliance with all safety and sanitation standards.
• Monitor and record food and equipment temperatures, maintaining equipment cleanliness and proper operation.
• Follow recipes and procedures to ensure high-quality, safe, and appealing meals.
• Train team members, maintain cleaning logs, manage food inventory, and help reduce waste.
• Demonstrate teamwork, professionalism, and service excellence in alignment with UnityPoint Health values.
