Job summary

Daily Provisions, part of Union Square Hospitality Group, seeks a Cafe Sous Chef in New York. You will work with the Cafe Chef to uphold high kitchen standards, lead line cooks, BOH team members, and hourly staff, and drive consistent, high-quality service across all channels.

You will train new hires, ensure health and safety standards, and partner with FOH to deliver exceptional guest experiences. The role emphasizes Enlightened Hospitality and team development.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of culinary/kitchen leadership and casual dining experience.
• Excellent food & beverage knowledge and passion for culinary excellence.
• Experience in training and developing Back of House team members.
• Ability to communicate clearly across all teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Enlightened Hospitality to guests and team members.
• Partner with FOH and BOH to enforce systems and deliver great guest experiences.
• Maintain high performance and hospitality across service periods.
• Direct the team to ensure timely service and effective expediting.
• Educate FOH on menu and culinary procedures through tastings and presentations.
• Maintain positive relationships with dining room leadership and line staff.
• Ensure recipes and preparations meet Daily Provisions' standards and health code.
• Ensure new hires are trained properly in station procedures with Cafe Chef guidance.
• Support and manage front-of-house operations as needed.
