Job summary

The Jewish Community Center Dallas in Dallas, TX is seeking a Cafe Shift Lead to manage daily beverage service, prepare espresso drinks, and ensure a welcoming guest experience across all cafe stations.

You will follow recipes, handle payments, keep the coffee bar and service areas clean, restock supplies, monitor inventory, assist with light food prep, and work closely with the Food Services team; this full-time, non-exempt role offers benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous barista and restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, respectful, and welcoming approach to customers and coworkers.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn beverage preparation, recipes, equipment, and payment systems.
• Ability to work in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Commitment to cleanliness, food safety, and quality.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift approximately 25-30 pounds.
• Food Handler Certification or willingness to be trained for completion of certification.
• Availability for scheduled weekday and/or weekend shifts.
• Professional in appearance, manner and tone.
• A team player who possesses the ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso drinks, brewed coffee, iced coffee, tea, and other beverages.
• Follow recipes and portion standards to maintain consistent quality.
• Welcome customers, take orders, answer menu questions, and process payments.
• Keep the coffee bar, service counter, and customer areas clean and organized at all times.
• Restock cups, lids, syrups, milk, coffee, and other supplies.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements.
• Complete opening and closing tasks.
• Monitor inventory and communicate restocking needs to the manager or shift lead.
• Receive and organize deliveries and supplies as needed.
• Assist with light food preparation, pastry displays, and other café items.
• Work collaboratively with Food Services team members.
• Support other café and Food Services tasks as needed.

Angela’s coffee shop is looking for Cafe Shift Leads to join our team!
