Job summary

Nu3s Market Café in Queens, NY is seeking a Senior Cook to run a station independently, keep quality consistent, and help steady the kitchen during busy stretches. You will train prep and line cooks on recipes, procedures, and food-safety standards while supporting inventory and health code compliance.

The role is full-time at $21–$23/hr DOE, with room to grow as the concept expands and the team scales.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of cooking experience in café/QSR/fast-casual settings.
• Ability to run a station solo and maintain pace during rushes.
• Strong recipe-following and food-prep fundamentals.
• ServSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute menu items to spec with attention to quality and presentation.
• Run a station independently during service and coordinate flow on the line.
• Collaborate with Kitchen Team Lead, Head Cook and staff.
• Help train prep and line cooks on recipes, procedures and safety.
• Monitor food quality, portioning and ticket times.
• Assist with inventory, ordering, and receiving deliveries.
• Keep the kitchen clean and compliant with health codes.
• Flag issues or improvement ideas to the Head Cook.

Senior Cook – Nu3s Market Café, Queens

Nu3s Market Café has recently opened and is building out our kitchen team as we grow. We're looking for a Senior Cook who can run a station independently, keep quality consistent, and help steady the kitchen during busy stretches, someone who's ready to take on more responsibility without needing close supervision.

What You'll Do

• Execute menu items to spec using our recipe cards, with strong attention to quality, consistency, and presentation
• Run a station independently during service and help coordinate the flow across the line
• Work collaboratically with the Kitchen Team Lead, Head Cook and kitchen staff.
• Help train prep and line cooks on recipes, procedures, and food-safety standards
• Monitor food quality, portioning, and ticket times
• Assist with inventory counts, ordering, and receiving deliveries
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and up to health code standards
• Flag issues or improvement ideas to the Head Cook

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of cooking experience in a café, QSR, or fast-casual kitchen
• Comfortable working a station solo and keeping pace during rushes
• Strong recipe-following and food-prep fundamentals
• Some experience mentoring or informally leading other cooks a plus
• Reliable, organized, and calm under pressure
• ServSafe certification preferred
