Job Posting: Retail Cafe Manager - (Post in Culinary Agents and Indeed)

Butter Beans is a leading provider of school and camp meals throughout New York City and the surrounding area. Current meals served for private and charter schools exceed 20,000 meals per day. In addition, Butter Beans provides catering and retail cafe service for notable institutions throughout New York City.

Butter Beans is seeking strong leaders to run our cafes in Manhattan and Queens, NY. This is a full-time position with either a morning or afternoon shift throughout the week.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Customer relations
2. Training and supervision of 5 to 7 individuals
3. Weekly staff scheduling
4. Timekeeping & Payroll
5. Managing food, labor, and kitchen supply costs to budget
6. Inventory management and purchasing
7. Food preparation and cooking experience
8. Operations and food safety
9. Point of sales system
10. Cash handling procedures

Required Skills & Experience:

1. Bilingual (Spanish)
2. Food Handlers Card from the New York Department of Health and strong understanding of food safety
3. 5+ years in the food service industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
4. Experience with food prep, cooking, food safety, customer service, and point-of-sale systems
5. Strong communication and leadership skills
6. Previous costs management experience
7. Proficient with PC and relevant software programs

Schedule:

1. Morning or evening shift, operating hours from 6am-8pm
2. Battery Park City location expected to start June 1
3. 40 hours per week
