The CapstoneCafe Manager’s primary responsibility is to oversee and direct all ministry and business activities for the Capstone Café and Bookstore. This includes purchasing, store and employee management (incl. orientations and training programs), customer service, inventory,andcommunity relations.
Manage Bookstore and Café Operations by creating a welcoming environment for both staff and community and developing a solid team to serve coffee and food items with excellence
Manage all Capstone Operations including 24-32 hours shifts
Maintain safe work environment for team and guests
Monitor inventory of food items, supplies, and merchandise
Recruit volunteers to serve and share our ministry of hospitality
Develops and manages all internal operational and employee policies and procedures
Follows retail best practices with quality control and selection of drink, food and merchandise
Creates and provides trainings for all staff related to opening, closing, cleaning, inventory, customer service, barista,and oversees and manages staff’s daily duties, schedules, etc.
Greets customers with a courteous and friendly attitude, and champions Northview’s cultural values, vision, and mission
Maintains a welcoming and positive physical appearance and culture
Ensures reconciliation of cash drawers daily
Keeps up to date on health department standards
Recruits, trains and involves ministry leaders (volunteers) to serve during peak business hours and as much as possible otherwise to keep payroll to a minimum
Performs related duties as assigned by the Controller
This position supervises all Capstone employees and ministry leaders. They work with volunteers and must have an understanding that volunteers are key to the ministry of the church.The employee must have a heart to recruit, train, equip and support employees/volunteers in fulfilling their roles.Maintaining good relationships with the local community, church leaders, teams and staff is a must.

2-3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Related experience would be in management within the food industry, preferably in a bookstore or coffee shop.
