Job summary

Mattel, Inc. at the American Girl Retail flagship in New York seeks a Cafe Lead who will assist with daily operations, provide leadership to the department, and deliver high levels of selling and customer service to guests.

Responsibilities include overseeing staffing, coaching, purchasing/vendor relations, inventories, food/beverage service and sanitation, and collaborating with store management to deliver events and programs. Strong emphasis on teamwork and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Restaurant experience in a high-volume environment preferred.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Current sanitation related certifications (preferred).
• Proficiency with Eatec, InfoGenesis/Universal Desktop, Zomato reservations, POS systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staffing, hiring, coaching/training, purchasing/vendor relations, inventories, and maintain food/beverage service and sanitation standards.
• Assist team in achieving department revenue and expense goals.
• Ensure customer satisfaction with dining experience and resolve issues.
• Ensure food quality, meet special requests and dietary needs, and cover shifts as needed.
• Collaborate with Restaurant and Store Management to deliver events and programs.
• Maintain communication with staff and management.
• Maintain and troubleshoot kitchen equipment and reservation/ POS/ inventory systems.
• Lead by example in all areas of the business.
