Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp is seeking a Food Service Assistant to support daily café and catering operations. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe food service environment and assisting with inventory, delivery, and customer service.

You will work to ensure compliance with food safety standards while providing a positive café experience. The position involves stocking, rotating items, and collaborating with team members to deliver excellent service, with potential growth into broader food service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ServSafe Manager Certification must be obtained within six months of hire if not currently held.
• Ability to perform physical duties, including bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds, and standing for extended periods.
• Demonstrates a positive, questioning attitude focused on continuous learning and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Perform kitchen utility and sanitation functions: sorting, washing, sanitizing, and storing dishes and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and work area per FDA Food Code and company standards.
• Assist with routine cleaning and sanitation of food prep, service, and storage areas.
• Maintain café inventory and presentation by stocking grab-and-go items, display cases, beverages, and supplies.
• Support catering operations through delivery, setup, and breakdown of orders across the facility.
• Collaborate with leadership and team members by following procedures and providing operational support.
