Job Summary
Under the direction of the Food Services Director and South Campus Caf Lead, this position provides quality food service to all customers. The Barista should be knowledgeable of the building layout as they are often looked to as an information point. The barista should have exceptional social skills and maintain a professional and positive manner. This includes detailed knowledge of the James River Caf coffee drink procedure as well as day-to-day operations of the cafe.

Work Schedule

• Sunday: 7am-1pm
• Wednesday: 5pm-9pm

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

• Handle monetary transactions accurately, maintain a balanced sales drawer, and make caf deposits.
• Operate espresso/brewing machines, baking, and cleaning with proper training.
• Follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Maintain a safe environment.
• Follow daily open and close procedures when applicable.
• Adjust to changes in plans and implement solutions.
