Position Summary

The Barista is responsible for fulfilling orders and completing sales transactions within the Pete’s Market café and performing other support functions which may include cleaning the food preparation, customer seating or stock areas, and maintaining inventory. Demonstrates Pete’s Market Four Pillars: Value, Aesthetic, Quality, and Service.

Essential Functions and Duties

1. Possess the skills, knowledge, and training necessary to appropriately brew espresso and coffee beverages.
2. Exhibit teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant environment.
3. Provide friendly and efficient customer service, demonstrating sincerity, patience, and respect, and thanking customers for their business.
4. Greet customers genuinely, assist with products, and help with heavy or out-of-reach items.
5. Communicate effectively with customers and respond to questions promptly.
6. Operate equipment properly and wear personal protective equipment according to guidelines.
7. Maximize sales through proper prep, quality, storage, and merchandising of products.
8. Follow and comply with established procedures and safety regulations.
9. Ensure beverages are made at proper temperatures and equipment remains sanitized.
10. Make various coffee drinks (espresso, cappuccino, latte, etc.) and follow recipes and schedules.
11. Maintain cleanliness standards, including washing, cleaning, sweeping, and mopping.
12. Adhere to all laws, safety, and food safety regulations; report issues and illegal activity.
13. Assist team members as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
