Job summary

Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery seeks a friendly Barista to craft espresso drinks and seasonal beverages with fresh, local ingredients. You’ll engage customers, share the story behind our offerings, and keep the cafe environment welcoming and efficient.

You will work closely with a team to maintain high quality and presentation, handle specialty syrups, and support smooth operations during busy periods while upholding excellent customer service standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare the full menu of cafe and espresso drinks quickly and accurately following quality standards.
• Explain seasonal ingredients, coffee brewing and espresso techniques to customers.
• Operate espresso machine and coffee brewer and maintain workspace cleanliness.
• Label and store in-house syrups used in specialty beverages.
• Provide excellent customer service to guests picking up orders.
• Utilize downtime for cleaning, restocking, or other tasks as needed.
• Treat customers and coworkers with courtesy and respect.

The Swamp Cafe is a fun and fast-paced environment focused on serving delicious food with fresh seasonal and local ingredients and craft espresso drinks. Customer service and excellent food quality are the heart of cafe operations. The Barista is the go-to person for customer coffee cravings and we strive to be the best in town in quality, taste, presentation and service.

Requirements

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Responsible for preparing the full menu of cafe and espresso drinks quickly and accurately using high standards, following quality, portion and presentation standards
• Communicates knowledgeably about seasonal ingredients, coffee brewing and espresso techniques; stays on top of brewing methods, beverage blends, and presentation
• Operates a variety of specialized cafe equipment, i.e. espresso machine, coffee brewer
• Cleans/maintains proper workstation
• Responsible for the preparation, labeling, and storage of in-house syrups used in specialty beverages
• Provides excellent customer service to guests picking up their orders
• Finds efficient use for downtime (cleaning, restocking, dishes, etc)
• Treats customers and co-workers with courtesy and respect

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS?

AGE/AVAILABILITY

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be available to report for work on time, weekend availability required
