Job summary

Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery in Greenville, SC is seeking a friendly Barista/Taptender to serve espresso drinks, beer and snacks while building relationships with regular customers. You will keep the space inviting and handle opening/closing duties and POS transactions.

The role emphasizes hospitality, accuracy, and teamwork; you will help manage customer flow and maintain organization while creating and serving delicious beverages and bites.

Job description

Do you like the heavenly aroma of freshly ground beans first thing in the morning ? Can you pour a perfect draft while talking to the regulars? Do you want to work where you can be yourself while having fun? We might just be the place for you.

The Swamp Coffee Shop is an extension of the Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery where customers are welcomed into our indoor space by the smell of freshly brewed coffee and warm pasties. The Barista/Taptender actively serves our customers a variety of offerings ranging from espresso drinks to beer, wine and snacks. They are naturally customer service oriented as they love interacting with customers and creating relationships with regulars. They work hard to ensure the space is tidy, organized and inviting while creating and serving deliciously craveable food and drinks.

Requirements

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Performs opening and closing duties including setting up and breaking down several stations such as an espresso machine, pastry display and kegerator
• Accurately rings up customers and takes payment using POS system
• Takes and fulfills customer orders with urgency, kindness and accuracy
• Effectively manages customer flow by grouping orders and drink production; proactively asks Front of House management for help to prevent increased wait times
• Creates a variety of espresso drinks by operating espresso and brewing equipment and following recipes, portion and presentation standards

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS?

AGE/AVAILABILITY

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must be available nights, evenings and weekends between the hours of 6:00am and 8:00pm
