Job summary

Vertage Inc. is seeking a senior contractor to onboard CAE applications into Windows 365 / Azure Virtual Desktop for Ford’s defense division. You will document requirements, configure environments, and ensure secure, licensed, and cost-controlled deployments.

The role involves collaborating with Ford Engineering, Enterprise Technology, the ISI team, and vendors to scale one-off deployments into a connected engineering environment while maintaining strong governance and cost visibility.

Qualifications

• 7+ years installing and supporting CAE tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, ANSA, LS‑DYNA, and LS‑PREPOST
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, computer, or software engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience managing application licenses, SKUs, capacity, renewals, and usage reporting
• Ability to turn vendor infrastructure and application requirements into implementable technical designs
• US Person (US citizen or permanent resident) working from the US

Responsibilities

• Onboard CAE applications that run on Windows 365 / Azure Virtual Desktop and document needs (installers, infrastructure, dependencies, user groups, licensing, authentication, install order)
• Identify infrastructure needs (license servers, databases, HPC, integrations) and support testing and handoff to operations
• Join architecture reviews and plan integrations between CAE tools, 3DEXPERIENCE, requirements-management platforms, and data-transfer capabilities
• Document current and target-state architectures, dependencies, and ownership of operations
• Track Azure Government license types, SKUs, quantities, and spare capacity; request more before capacity runs out
• Reconcile Azure Government charges to subscriptions, environments, and users; produce cost reports and billing extracts
• Investigate unexpected usage/cost variances with Ford cloud, billing, finance, and ISI teams
• Keep cost forecasts current as apps/infra/licenses/users change
