Precision Castparts seeks a Plating Technician to perform metal finishing, including cadmium plating, following AMS QQ-P-416 and related procedures. You’ll prepare parts, monitor baths, and verify thickness and adhesion to ensure quality and compliance with safety standards.

The role operates plating equipment, maintains chemical baths, records production data, and supports continuous improvement in a regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).
• Experience in metal finishing, plating, or manufacturing processes (preferred).
• Basic understanding of mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Ability to use measurement tools and inspection equipment.
• Knowledge of safety practices related to hazardous materials.

Responsabilidades

• Perform cadmium plating processes following established procedures and specifications (e.g., AMS QQ-P-416).
• Prepare parts for plating, including cleaning, rinsing, and surface preparation.
• Operate rack and barrel plating systems depending on part size and requirements.
• Monitor and adjust plating parameters such as voltage, current density, time, and temperature.
• Ensure proper chemical bath composition and assist with solution maintenance.
• Inspect plated parts for thickness, coverage, and visual defects.
• Perform or support testing processes (e.g., adhesion, thickness verification, corrosion resistance).
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Follow all safety procedures when handling hazardous chemicals (e.g., cyanide solutions, acids).
• Identify defects (e.g., burning, uneven coating) and take corrective action such as stripping and reprocessing.
• Support continuous improvement and compliance with quality control standards.
