Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and a high school graduate or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years of age at completion of AZ P.O.S.T. Basic Training Curriculum.
• Resident of Arizona by starting date and possess a valid Arizona driver license.

Responsibilities

• Learn patrol, investigation, traffic control and safety, police methods, first aid, and community and police relations.
• Learn federal, state, and local traffic and criminal laws.
• Learn Department policies and procedures and how to prepare clear, concise reports.
• Participate in a physical fitness program to develop the physical skills required for the job.
• Learn proper work habits, appearance, and interpersonal skills.
