Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (U.S. equivalency) required.
  • Must meet TCLEOSE hiring standards and licensure requirements.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and a U.S. citizen.
  • Must meet admission standards for the Regional Police Academy.
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver license.
  • Must successfully complete an intensive background investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Attend classes and maintain notebooks of subjects covered in classes.
  • Prepare research papers and complete homework assignments.
  • Participate in physical training, firearms training, defensive tactics, and practical problems.
  • Join classroom discussions and group projects.
  • Comply with assignments and instructions from the RPA and Dallas ISD Police Chief or designee.
  • Adhere to Dallas ISD policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
  • Occasionally drive or operate Dallas ISD vehicles.
  • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S. equivalency)
TCLEOSE standards and licensure requirements
Must be at least 21 years old and a U.S. citizen
Admission standards for NCTCOG Regional Police Academy
Valid Texas driver license
Complete intensive background investigation
