Job summary

Oklahoma Military Department is seeking a Counselor I to conduct individual and group counseling for program youth, preparing them for transition to placement after program completion. The role includes classroom instruction of job skills and life coping skills, under supervision, with a focus on retention and progress reporting.

The position requires BA/BS in counseling or related field, with Master’s and LPC/LBP licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in counseling, education or related field required.
• Masters degree and LPC/LBP licensure preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential information and use computer systems for program data entry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group counseling for cadets.
• Provide crisis counseling and life skills guidance.
• Coordinate guest speakers and field trips for counseling topics.
• Maintain progress notes and participate in meetings and trainings.
