Job summary

Virginia Military Institute is seeking part-time tutors for the Cadet-Athlete Development Office to support cadet athletes in subject-area tutoring. The role reports to the Assistant Athletics Director for Cadet Athlete Success and involves working with cadet-athletes in both group and individual tutoring programs.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or current enrollment with at least 30 credits, and a grade of B or better in tutored subjects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher or be a full-time student with at least 30 credits toward one’s major.
• Have completed the class(es) or a similar class to be tutored with a grade of B or better.
• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in the discipline tutored.
• Have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher as an undergraduate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain full commitment to NCAA, Southern Conference and VMI rules.
• Work with cadets in group and individual tutoring sessions.
• Arrive on time for tutoring appointments and maintain schedules.
• Communicate effectively with cadet-athletes in a professional manner.
