Job summary

Precision Measurements, Inc. is seeking a senior surveyor to prepare survey plats and maps including boundary, as-built, topo, and utility route surveys. The role requires meeting agency standards and involves project management, courthouse research, processing survey data, and CAD file preparation.

The successful candidate will perform construction staking calculations and occasional field work, with minimal supervision to complete projects with demanding scopes and schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of surveying related experience; degree may substitute two years of required experience.
• Proficient with Carlson, AutoCAD Civil 3D; experienced with MicroStation using GeoPak and/or OpenRoads.

Responsibilities

• Prepare survey plats and maps including boundary, as-built, topographic, and utility route surveys.
• Ensure compliance with agency requirements (VDOT, USACE, NAVFAC).
• Manage projects, courthouse research, data processing from crews, and CAD file preparation.
• Perform construction staking calculations and occasional field work.
• Work with minimal supervision to meet demanding scopes and schedules.

Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparation of survey plats and maps including boundary surveys, as-built surveys, topographic surveys, utility route surveys, etc. while meeting the requirements of various agencies (e.g. VDOT, USACE, NAVFAC). Work assignments may vary depending on the office’s needs and will be communicated to the applicant by the office manager. Responsibilities will also include individual project management, courthouse research, processing of data collected by survey crews, preparation of CAD files, construction staking calculations, and occasional field work. The successful candidate will be able to work with minimal supervision to complete projects with demanding scopes and schedules.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

Minimum of 5 years of surveying related experience. (Satisfactory completion of a Survey / CAD related degree from an accredited college, vocational/technical school or military training may be substituted for two years of the required experience.), proficient using Carlson, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and experience using MicroStation with GeoPak and/or OpenRoads.
