Colliers Engineering & Design in Norfolk, VA is seeking a driven CADD Operator to join our Survey/Geospatial team. You will translate field data into accurate drawings using CAD tools, supporting land development, infrastructure, and geospatial projects.

Candidates should have 2–5 years of related AutoCAD Civil 3D experience (MicroStation a plus), a high school diploma or higher, and the ability to read and follow survey descriptions in English.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of related experience in surveying/drafting.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D; MicroStation a plus.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for job communications and instructions.
• Works well in a team environment to complete high-volume projects within deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Draft parcels or subdivision boundaries from legal descriptions using CAD techniques (Civil 3D).
• Maintain skills in AutoCAD; MicroStation a plus.
• Perform Topographic, ALTA, Boundary, and As-built surveys.
• Read, plot Legal descriptions; draft portions of routine projects under surveyor direction.
• Adhere to AutoCAD standards and project naming conventions.

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for a driven and detail-oriented CADD Operator to join our fast-paced Survey/Geospatial team in Norfolk, VA. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our survey and mapping projects, turning field data into accurate, high-quality technical drawings and plans with the power of computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software. You’ll collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and project managers to deliver precise results that shape land development, infrastructure, and geospatial projects across the region. Responsibilities

• Ability to draft parcels, or subdivision boundaries from legal descriptions using CAD techniques (Civil 3D).
• Maintains average skills in the use of AutoCAD (MicroStation a plus).
• Ability and knowledge to perform Topographic survey, ALTA survey, Boundary Survey, As built Survey etc.
• Ability to read and plot Legal descriptions.
• Performs drafting of portions of routine projects under direction of project surveyor.
• Understands surveying terminology.
• Prepares a variety of survey products.
• Adheres to AutoCAD standards manual.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/Equivalent; Associates Degree or a Certificate from a technical school, preferably in AutoCAD.
• 2-5 years of related experience. (Previous survey experience a plus).
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D. (MicroStation a plus).
• Work within a team oriented environment to successfully complete a high volume of projects within established budgets and deadlines.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
