Job summary

LSUHSC-New Orleans is seeking a Morgue Technician to manage donor cadaveric remains within the willed body program. You will receive, catalog, and ensure respectful handling of donations across procedures and coursework.

The role includes evaluating, blood testing and embalming, cremation, preparation for graduate and medical courses, and supervision of donors in classes. Hazardous chemicals are handled, and morgue, labs, crematory spaces are kept clean and safe.

Responsibilities

• Receive and catalog human remains
• Evaluate, blood test, and embalm donors
• Cremate donors and prepare for courses
• Oversee donors in graduate and post-graduate courses
• Manage hazardous chemicals and maintain crematory, labs and morgue
• Clean and maintain freezers and cold boxes, transport donors as needed
