Job summary

Hall-County in Gainesville, GA seeks a GIS Technician to edit cadastral maps, analyze GIS data, and prepare graphic representations using ESRI ArcGIS and SDS tools. The role includes supporting end users and maintaining enterprise GIS data layers with ArcSDE 9.1 and Oracle Geodatabase.

You will also build maps, charts, and metadata, participate in data automation, and ensure quality through cartographic standards and timely delivery to the Department and public.

Qualifications

Associates degree in GIS or related field and 1 year GIS experience.
ArcGIS software experience and GIS data management.
Knowledge of parcel, subdivision, and cadastral data layers.
Ability to train and support end users of GIS products.
Familiarity with ArcSDE and Oracle Geodatabase.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support and end-user training for GIS products.
Maintain GIS cadastral data layers in ArcSDE Oracle Geodatabase.
Edit cadastral layers using parcels, subdivisions, and deeds.
Incorporate new subdivisions into GIS layers from plats and CAD data.
Assist users with ESRI and SDS GIS software issues and updates.
Prepare maps and data reports for the Department and public.
