Job summary

Wabash is seeking a CAD Manager to lead a cross-functional team focused on modernizing CAD processes, establishing data governance, and delivering new capabilities in product configuration and ecommerce 3D visualization.

You will shepherd the transition from Cideon to SAP ECTR, set standards, and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, IT, sales, and ecommerce to align CAD with business goals. Leadership, strategy, and hands-on CAD work are all part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 5+ years in a CAD-intensive engineering environment, with at least 2 years in leadership.
• Expert-level proficiency in SOLIDWORKS (part, assembly, drawing).
• Hands-on SAP-integrated CAD/document management experiences (Cideon, SAP ECTR).
• Strong data management, revision control, BOM structures, and ERP integration knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead the CAD team supporting production, visualization initiatives, and ecommerce.
• Act as the primary CAD authority for internal stakeholders across product engineering, manufacturing, ecommerce, sales, and IT.
• Represent the CAD function in design reviews, program planning, and technology roadmap discussions.
• Define team structure, hiring roadmap, and capability gaps.
• Drive adoption of data management standards and CAD workflows; oversee SAP ECTR rollout.
