About Us

CBG Surveying is seeking a CAD Technician for our Houston, TX location. CBG Surveying is one of the oldest and most successful surveying companies in Texas, having been established over 30 years ago. We currently have offices in Dallas & Houston with plans for future growth and expansion. This position is crucial to the successful completion and gathering of information in the field. Responsibilities

1. Understand and use company established standards for drafting assignments.
2. Record survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, drawings, sketches, and inked tracings.
3. Compare survey computations with applicable standards to determine adequacy of data. Responsible for office calculations from construction plans for field layout and preparation of cut sheets and point lists.
4. Collect information needed to carry out new surveys using source maps, previous survey data, photographs, computer records, and other relevant information.
5. Operate and manage land information computer systems, performing tasks such as storing data, making inquiries, and producing plots and reports.
6. Responsible for the correctness of the survey that meets CBG standards.

Requirements

1. High School Diploma or GED required, two years of college preferred or a combination of work and school experience acceptable.
2. Must have at least 1 year of drafting experience with surveys.
3. Familiarity with Carlson or AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
4. Positive attitude, high attention to detail, and motivated.
5. Good oral and written communication skills are a plus.
