Job summary

UFP Industries, located in Brooklyn Center, MN, seeks a CAD Technician - SolidWorks Specialist to turn architectural visions into detailed, buildable models using SolidWorks. You’ll collaborate with project managers, engineers and field teams to move projects from concept to fabrication.

The role requires 2–3 years SolidWorks experience, especially with assemblies and weldments, plus a solid grasp of architectural and structural drawings.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of SolidWorks experience, especially with assemblies and weldments.
  • Strong understanding of architectural and structural drawings.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam Revu is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Interpreting architectural and structural drawings to capture design intent and attachment conditions.
  • Collaborating with sales and project managers to develop preliminary and shop drawings.
  • Creating and revising engineering and fabrication drawings that guide production teams.

Hours: 7am-4pm

What You’ll Do

As a CAD Technician, you’ll be at the heart of our design process, transforming architectural visions into detailed, buildable models using SolidWorks. You’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to bring projects from concept to fabrication.

What You Bring
  • Associate’s degree in architectural technology, engineering, or equivalent CAD experience.
  • 2-3 years of SolidWorks experience, especially with assemblies and weldments.
  • Strong understanding of architectural and structural drawings.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam Revu is a plus.
  • A collaborative mindset and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Competitive Pay: $55,000-70,000 annually, dependent on skill set and experience
