Job summary

Alliant Engineering, Inc. is seeking an experienced CAD Technician to join our Minneapolis, MN Land Development team. You will work on a variety of Minnesota projects, producing detailed drawings under licensed PE supervision, and supporting PS&E package preparation.

The ideal candidate has AutoCAD Civil 3D experience, understands CAD standards and project setup, and can collaborate across multiple project managers while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate in CAD/Civil Engineering Technology or related field.
• 1–8 years experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Ability to set up CAD projects, file structures, CAD standards, and survey data processing.

Responsibilities

• Generate detailed drawings from sketches and plans using CAD software.
• Provide technical support for assigned projects and assist in PS&E package preparation.
• Coordinate with Project Manager to understand schedule and milestones.
• Train and guide less experienced CAD Technicians and EITs.
• QC plans for accuracy, standards compliance, and constructability.
• Collaborate with multiple project managers to balance deadlines.
