Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers in Fort Worth is seeking an Assistant CAD Systems Manager to advance CAD technology across the Transportation team, improving production quality and efficiency. This role will assist in developing customized support, training, and software optimization strategies while actively promoting emerging technology.

You will support project teams with Bentley software, standard templates, and workflows from 3D modeling through design and production, while coordinating licensing,

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of civil engineering design production using Bentley software.
• Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads (Connect Edition), ProjectWise, PowerGeopak.
• Familiarity with ESRI, Microsoft Office, AutoTurn, ConceptStation, LumenRT, OpenBridge, SignCAD, StormCAD and SUDA preferred.
• Familiar with GIS integration or LiDAR/point cloud data.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills to support project teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams in utilizing Bentley software across 3D modeling through design and production.
• Develop software templates and resource files aligned with client standards for roadway, drainage, and utility design.
• Provide technical support via online training, troubleshooting, and maintain documentation of solutions.
• Support project setup and configuration to ensure efficient CAD workflows.
• Test, refine, and document CAD workflows using latest software and hardware technologies.
• Create and maintain CAD training materials, including manuals and videos.
• Troubleshoot design file, workspace, and file management issues.
• Stay informed on industry trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Evaluate and recommend plugins/extensions to enhance program capabilities.
• Assist in managing CAD software licensing, upgrades, and deployment with IT.
• Develop macros, scripts, or automation routines to reduce repetitive tasks.
