Job summary

State of Florida's Department of Management Services is seeking a CAD Space Planner in Tallahassee to verify and analyze space using AutoCAD and Excel. The role involves maintaining CAD files for renovations, establishing space standards, and producing lease documents for agencies and contractors.

The incumbent will collaborate with Agencies, Architects, Engineers, and Contractors, plan migrations, and support relocation sequencing based on space needs. Travel and field measurements are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience using AutoCAD (2020 or higher).
• Willingness to attain AutoCAD Certified Professional from AutoDesk if not certified.
• Experience using Excel spreadsheets with basic formulas.
• Knowledge of Florida construction regulations and laws.
• Strong AutoCAD knowledge related to buildings and site plans.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task daily across projects, emails, and meetings.
• Willingness to follow DMS CAD standards and apply them to all projects.
• Willingness to take on increased responsibilities and overtime when needed.
• Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Verify, document and analyze square footage using AutoCAD and Excel.
• Travel long distances for field measurements and measurements of sites.
• Maintain and update CAD files for building renovations.
• Establish space standards and CAD documents for leases used by Agencies, Vendors and Contractors.
• Collaborate with Agencies, Architects, Engineers, Contractors and DMS staff on needs and migration plans.
• Support relocation sequencing based on physical space requirements.
