Job summary

The University of Southern California seeks a CAD Project Specialist to support CAD activities for Facilities Management Services, verify spaces in the field, and update digital floorplans. You will manage CAD files, coordinate across units, and assist with BIM/GIS integration using Revit and ArcGIS.

You will guide student assistants, maintain data accuracy, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely documentation for capital projects and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Drafting & Design Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4–6 years of CAD drafting and drawing management experience, preferably in facilities management or institutional environments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for production drafting and updating building floorplans and documents.
• Working knowledge of Revit (BIM) and familiarity with ArcGIS for spatial data integration.
• Experience with Archibus, Meridian, and e-Builder or similar platforms is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, civil, and site drawings; strong drafting standards and file organization.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail; valid CA driver's license with DMV Pull Notice system eligibility.

Responsibilities

• CAD File & Data Management: organize, maintain, and QC CAD drawings, space data, and digital files.
• CAD Coordination & Project Support: update floorplans based on field verification and renovations.
• Systems & Technology Support: maintain CAD-related hardware/software; support Revit, ArcGIS, and Archibus usage.
• Documentation & Reporting: prepare status reports, schedules, and project results.
• Team Leadership & Training: supervise student workers and lead project activities as needed.
• Compliance & Standards: ensure version control, file structure, and drafting standards are followed.
