Job summary

McCormick & Company, Incorporated, a global leader in flavor and seasonings, seeks a Packaging Designer for Secondary Packaging (CAD - Scientist II). Based at the Technical Innovation Center in Hunt Valley, MD, you will create and maintain AutoCAD drawings, coordinate BLUE die lines, and lead packaging design and sample production with cross-functional teams.

Requirements include a bachelor’s/associate/technical degree in a relevant discipline and at least 4 years in CAD and secondary packaging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, Associate Degree, or Technical Study in a relevant technical discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of CAD and secondary packaging design experience (corrugated, labels, cartons, etc.).
• Strong user knowledge of AutoCAD functionality to complete assignments and formulate future direction.
• Fundamental knowledge of packaging materials as related to drawing creation.
• Attention to detail, strong math skills, problem-solving skills, solid communication & interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Creation and maintenance of AutoCAD technical drawings and associated graphics die lines.
• BLUE system graphics die line uploads and coordination.
• Secondary packaging design and sample production; mock-up creation.
• Planning and conducting complex technical assignments.
• Interacting with all levels of management, working cross-functionally, participating in project planning activities, and providing technical guidance in adjacent areas.
• Being accountable for deliverables & project milestones.
• Planning, scheduling and prioritizing work, insuring deadlines & customer expectations are met.
• Enforcing established standards, controls and processes.
